Insects sensor array for precision agriculture
Insects sensor array – is a tailored end-to-end technology solution for easy, safe and low-cost targeted approach to agriculture. It allows making well-informed decisions about when to spray the crops, and how to target insecticides and pesticides more accurately and helps to prevent a damage caused by insects on healthcare, environment, and agriculture by detecting and monitoring of different types of insects and their populations trending. A sensor array – is a group of sensors, deployed in a certain geometry pattern, registers particular insects (at the same time is insensitive to the other parameters), differentiate them and then analyzes using digital signal processing algorithms. Different environmental conditions should be considered: humidity, temperature, wind, etc.
The advantage of using a sensor array over using a single sensor lies in the fact that an array adds new dimensions to the observation, helping to estimate more parameters and improve the estimation performance.
